Our Story

Our story began with a mother and her teenage daughter, who helped her mother learn that every child is extraordinary from the inside, no matter how it looks from the outside. And that the only way to tap into this extraordinary quotient is with fascinated curiosity and unconditional love (skills of the right brain).

They started off like any other parent-child stepping into adolescence going through the typical parent-teen drama. Through her rebellion, their showdowns, and boundaries being imposed, the duo was caught in a pattern of love-hate relationship. Until, thanks to her ongoing education and experience as a coach, the mother shifted her focus and began to explore her daughter’s extraordinary uniqueness hidden beneath the rebellion of standards imposed by adults.

That was the turning point for them as it opened the door to a rollicking journey of an inspired mother who dug into deeper studies, and a reluctant, but extraordinary teenager, working together to help her thrive. It seemed the Universe became part of their team and started lighting their path as with every challenge, a solution emerged and propelled them forward.

Over 9 months of learning, unlearning, arguing, inspiring, resisting, and loving each other, they did it! The daughter began thriving academically (despite not quite liking school), flourishing in her passions of art and sports, and above all, as an empath who felt emotions strongly, she learned to regulate them and slay those stressors.

The Helping Kids Thrive vision and program was born out of this experiential journey of Aparna (mum) and Siya (daughter). Siya continues to inspire her mum and the founding team to build on this story with every parent and their adolescent!
